Huixi Wu (she/her) is a New York-based illustrator and visual designer whose work explores emotion, identity, and contemporary social issues through imaginative storytelling, intricate linework, and vibrant colors.
She holds an MA in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and a BA in Graphic Design from Coastal Carolina University. Working across editorial illustration, picture books, posters, and visual design, Huixi combines playful imagery with thoughtful narratives, often exploring the relationship between childhood imagination and adult experiences.
Her illustrations have appeared in projects for The New York Times, The Washington Times, and Sina News. Her picture book Why Do We Have Nightmares? was exhibited at the 2026 Los Angeles Book Fair, while Schrödinger’s Cat was exhibited at the 2024 London Book Fair.
Her work has received international recognition, including the Gold Award at the 2024 Cheltenham Illustration Awards, Silver Award at the 2023 iJungle Illustration Awards, and recognition as a 2026 World Illustration Awards Longlisted Artist. She was also shortlisted for Illustration West 62 and featured in Creative Quarterly, Issue 74.
Huixi continues to create illustrations that connect personal emotions with universal experiences, inviting viewers to discover moments of wonder, reflection, and connection.
